Decorating or theming your marquee adds another dimension and can make your event extra special. We have tremendous experience creating exciting and engaging themes to entertain and delight your guests.
The interior of your marquee is a blank canvas on which we can create your dream event. Marquee linings are flameproof and available in many different styles and colours to create a unique ambience. The possibilities are endless, whether you want a simple classic white, a stunning sparkling star cloth or an opulent, rich tone. In winter, a lining will also help to insulate your marquee and keep it warm.
Hanging things from the roof of marquees – especially leaves – is one of the most popular decorative strategies of the moment.
Foliage is often intertwined with strings of fairy lights or, more prominent, festoon lighting. There are other options:
The vintage style has evolved towards a more rustic look. Increasingly this includes, crossback or limewashed Chiavari chairs, rich dark- trestle tables, simple flowers, and table runners...
Currently, strings of festoon (bigger) or fairy lights (smaller) are prevalent. They create a magical atmosphere as the evening draws in.
Marquees can also be entirely or partially blacked out, typically with a starlight ceiling.
The effect is dramatic and cool — and great for evening parties.
Coloured lighting can enhance the effect by spreading washes of colour across the black lining.
Walls, windows and poles:
Roofs:
Marquee roofs can be lined, blacked out or transparent. All three types can be decorated with fabric overlays which can be multiple for a striped effect.
Bunting:
Bunting or flags in all sorts of fabrics can be strung across or around the roof of a tent. Bunting can also radiate from the high centre of a traditional-style marquee.
Marquees can be lined, a frequent complement to formal or traditionally-styled events. 2 photos show the best way of answering a frequently asked question about the difference between lined and unlined marquees.
Marquee lining with decor:
Zest Marquees' standard linings are ivory pleated. They are the perfect backdrop for most styles. They can work together with swags, and bunting, as well as with lighting effects, theming accessories. We also stock flat ivory linings.
Swags:
Swags are available in a wide range of colours to suit the overall look of your event.
As a way of helping guests relax for a while, chill-out areas have become popular features of lengthy weddings and parties.
Chill-out areas can be in a separate small marquee (Chinese hat marquees look fun and are the ideal size), or they can be in a partitioned area of the main marquee.
Sofas, soft cube seating and low tables are typical furnishings. And the different or striking decor is sometimes applied to chill-out areas for fun.
For ideas and inspiration, please view the internal decorations section of our gallery.
Although Zest Marquees does not stock theme items, flowers etc., we are happy to organise supplies and then integrate them with all the other elements of marquee design to create the look and feel you require.
