Power and lighting management

At Zest Marquees, we take health and safety seriously and want to ensure that your event runs smoothly. We’ll advise on power and lighting at the design and planning stage and provide setup and installation. We’ll be on 24-hour standby during the event.

At larger-scale functions and corporate events, you may need professional advice from an electrician  - we can help with this, also. 

Getting the correct power supply for your marquee wedding or event is crucial. Caterers need power, heating, and, of course, lighting needs power. Whilst a blackout in the middle of your event may not ruin things, it certainly can put a dark cloud on the horizon!

Assessment and solutions

To guarantee an adequate power supply to service your event, we will advise based upon the power requirements of the planned services– the caterers, P.A. system, lighting, washroom facilities, band or disco. 

Electricity will typically be taken from the main supply and fed to a temporary distribution. All circuits are clearly labelled and discreetly provided around the marquee structure. If the mains supply (typically 60-80 Amps) is insufficient to supply the event, trailer-mounted power generators are available either as a standby to the mains or as the primary supply. N.B.The mains supply must be within 30 metres of the distribution board, or special cabling is required.

Lighting

It is essential to consider lighting requirements within the marquee and externally. Depending on the time of year, natural light starts to fade from late afternoon, and we recommend outside lighting for safety.

Interior Lighting

We can light marquees to achieve beautiful effects, from elegant wedding chandeliers with white up-lights around the interior of the marquee, to the contemporary colour change LED up-lights, with fairy or festoon overhead lighting. We also have audio/virtual D.J./Lighting systems to help the party feel!

Blackout lining with LED lighting can transform the vibe with a marquee. We can advise on mood lighting, enhanced or whatever will complement your theme.

Exterior Lighting

A marquee exterior lit up at night can look simply magical. An excellent example of this is up-lighters outside a marquee with back-lit LED lighting. The event can also use exterior lighting can also be used very effectively to highlight garden features, trees and buildings.

LED festoon lighting supported by “Shepherds Crooks” can provide the solution for both a great first look for guests and for lighting a walkway to the marquee
