Case Study : Open Marquee for a 60th Birthday Party

Russ Sizer • November 21, 2023

The Brief

Sarah, a vibrant and sociable individual, was turning 60 and wanted to celebrate this milestone with a memorable, open-air birthday party. She partnered with Zest Marquees to create a party-buzz atmosphere for her special day to achieve her vision

The Challenges

• Outdoor Venue: The event was held in a beautiful garden. As we all know, the weather in the UK can be unpredictable, so a sheltered space was essential.

• Creating a Party Atmosphere: Sarah wanted a celebratory, open party vibe where guests could comfortably enjoy the surroundings while being protected from the elements.

The Solution

Sarah collaborated with Zest Marquees, a marquee hire company experienced in crafting open and welcoming event spaces. Their approach included the following:

1. Open-Sided Marquee: Zest Marquees provided a marquee with a combination of open and transparent sides, allowing guests to enjoy the garden's beauty while providing shelter from any unexpected rain or intense sun.

2. Party Decor: The marquee was adorned with colourful decor, festoon lighting, and vibrant table settings, creating a lively and joyful      atmosphere for the celebration.

3. Extensive lighting, inside and outside, including LED uplighters, fairy lights and festoon lights on shepherd's crooks, were arranged within and around the marquee to provide an incredible experience for guests and a fun place to mingle.

4. Entertainment: A live band and a dance floor were set up to encourage guests to dance and enjoy the party vibe.

The Outcome

Sarah's 60th birthday party was a resounding success, achieving her goal of creating an open and festive atmosphere:

• The open-sided marquee allowed guests to revel in the garden's natural beauty while offering protection from the elements.

• The lively scenery, rustic furniture, party lighting and entertainment contributed to a lively and celebratory atmosphere.

• Guests appreciated the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space and engage in various entertainment options.

Conclusion

The collaboration between Sarah and Zest Marquees demonstrated how marquee hire can be tailored to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for special occasions. The success of Sarah's 60th birthday party highlights the potential of marquee solutions in providing shelter and enhancing the party experience, particularly in outdoor settings where guests can enjoy the natural surroundings
